Winners of the scientific poster competition at the AI summer school
As part of the International AI School-Conference, a poster competition was held.
The summer school was organised by the Laboratory for Social and Cognitive Informatics and the Department of Informatics of HSE University in Saint Petersburg from 1 to 7 July 2024.
The jury selected five winners:
- Polina Nurgalieva Lomonosov Moscow State University Machine learning approach for blood serum spectroscopy in clinical diagnostics
- Galina Chugreeva Lomonosov Moscow State University Application of convolutional neural networks for creation of photoluminescent carbon nanosensor for heavy metals detection
- Anna Borisiuk D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia SNEC: Siamese Networks for Efficient text Clustering
- Konstantin Rumyantsev HSE Nizhniy Novgorod RISC-V RVV efficiency for ANN algorithms
- Gleb Dementev ITMO University Evaluation of LLMs for Speech Analytics
A special mention was also given to Ekaterina Malkova from the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Her poster, "Neural Network Approach to the Problem of Species Classification of Small Mammals by Footprints," discusses an ecological project that enables the determination of population size based on track recognition, allowing conclusions to be drawn about species at risk of extinction or those overpopulating their habitat.
