SCILa Reseachers at ICA 2024

The 74th annual conference of the International Communication Association took place in Australia, where projects from the Social and Cognitive Informatics Lab of HSE University were presented.

In 2024, the conference took place from June 20 to 24 in Gold Coast, Australia. Olessia Koltsova, Yadviga Sinyawskaya, and Elena Artemenko presented the lab's project results in two presentations:

- 'Online Social Capital of Social Media Users: The Integrative Effects of Social and Privacy Motives and Behaviors' (authors: Olessia Koltsova, Yadviga Sinyawskaya, Alexander Porshnev, and Reinhold Kliegl);
- 'Confirmation Bias and Users' Comments in Fake News Detection Accuracy and Credibility Perception' (authors: Elena Artemenko, Olessia Koltsova, and Maxim Terpilowsky).

The conference is organized by the International Communication Association and brings together more than 2,000 specialists from various fields, including human-computer interaction, communication and technology, communication science and biology, AI in communication, and more.
