New wave of data collection within the Mirror Laboratories
From October 11th to October 17th, SCILA employees visited Krasnoyarsk State Medical University as part of the 'Mirror Laboratories' project.
Throughout the week, Larisa Mararitsa and Elina Tsigeman participated in setting up an experiment to study the influence of motor synchronization on the dynamics of peripheral oxytocin. A total of 30 pairs of respondents took part in the experiment.
The experiment will help explore one of the presumed mechanisms affecting the quality of communication in face-to-face and computer-mediated meetings – sensorimotor synchronization, which may be disrupted in virtual encounters. Additionally, the experiment investigates the possibility of assessing the quality of interpersonal contact using biomarkers such as oxytocin.
On October 13th, Larisa Mararitsa and Elina Tsigeman presented at the conference "Social Brain: Prevention and Rehabilitation of Negative Stressfull Influences" organized by the laboratory's partner in the "Mirror Laboratories" project - the V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky Krasnoyarsk State Medical University. Their presentation focused on the results of one of the experiments within the project "Perceived communication quality in face-to-face and computer-mediated meetings and its objective assessment using oxytocin and mimic markers".
