Eye-tracking study of FakeNews perception

Supervisor: Olessia Koltsova

The project continues a series of studies of the FakeNews news perceptions.

The use of eye tracking technology will allow us to understand where the attention of participants is directed while FakeNews reading as well as highlight the most significant elements of a news message. The use of this technology will also reveal behavioral differences in the categorization of participants of reliable and false messages.

The main research method is a laboratory behavioral experiment with recording oculomotor activity data (fixations and saccades). Participants are invited to read news reports using specialized hardware (a mobile eye tracker for recording eye movement) and take a series of questionnaires.
